Obituary of Irvin Pressler

Irvin Lyle Pressler, age 82 of Olsburg, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Via Christi Hospital.

He was born on December 8, 1934 on a farm between Westmoreland and Wamego, the son of John Albert and Stella Mae (Wyatt) Pressler.

On August 14, 1952 in Marysville, he was married to Twila Roselyn Mellgren.  She survives of the home.  Early in their marriage he farmed and went to VoTech and then owned his own mechanic shop.  Later he became an electrician at Kansas State University in the student housing department for 29 years, where he serviced the elevators.

He was a member of the Olsburg American Legion, Olsburg PRIDE, Olsburg City Council, Olsburg United Methodist Church and Westmoreland Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing and crossword puzzles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Deve Mathews and husband Don of Spring Hill; one brother, Keith Pressler and wife Carla of Kansas City; three grandsons, Christopher Mathews and wife Ashlee, Jason Mathews and Dylan Thompson; four great grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Olivia and Teagyn and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Fairchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor David Geisler officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial with Military Honors will be in the Olsburg City Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Olsburg American Legion.  Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
