Obituary of Mary June Larson

Mary June Larson, age 70 of Riley, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on March 28, 1947, the daughter of Dwight F. and LaVina June (Kern) Nelson.  She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1965 and then graduated from Stormont-Vail Nursing School.

On August 7, 1976 at First Lutheran Church in Manhattan, she married Kevin Joseph Larson.  He survives of the home.

Mary was a Registered Nurse at Irwin Army Hospital at Fort Riley and Fitzsimons Army Medical in Colorado early in her career, before returning to Manhattan and working for Medical Associates.  She was an active supporter of the ministry of the Sedalia Community Church where her husband, Kevin, is the minister.  She enjoyed collecting antiques and interior decorating. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jared Larson and Michaela of Leonardville and Derek Larson and Ashley of Lincoln, Nebraska; one daughter, Kyndra Myers and Jason of St. George; one brother, David Nelson and Mary Jo of St. George; two sisters, Carolyn Baugh of Manhattan and Pam Hadden and Scott of Edmond, Oklahoma and six grandchildren, Sophia Larson, Micah Larson, Kjersten Myers, Kajsa Myers, Kristjana Myers and Paxton Larson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2017 at the First Lutheran Church in Manhattan with Rev. Keith Wiens officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Sedalia Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Sedalia Community Church or Leonardville Nursing Home and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
