Obituary of Dorothy Wachsnicht

Dorothy Jane Wachsnicht, age 93 of Leonardville, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on September 23, 1924 in Green, the daughter of Earl J. and Bessie (Evans) Spence.

On December 30, 1945, she was married to Wendell Clark Wachsnicht in Green.  He preceded her in death in 2008.

Dorothy was a clerk at the Green Grocery Store for 35 years and worked at the Green Cafe as a waitress.  She was a member of the Green United Methodist Church and Green E.H.U.  She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for all of the grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Wachsnicht in 2014.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Wachsnicht of Blue Rapids; four grandchildren, Amy Young (James), Trent Wachsnicht (Heather), Randy Wachsnicht (Jamie) and Marc Wachsnicht (Sarah) and 16 great granchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor Sarah Gill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Green Fancy Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Leonardville Nursing Home or Green United Methodist Church and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
