Obituary of Patricia A. Rooding

Patricia Ann Rooding, age 77 of Manhattan and formerly of Green, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 in the Sloan House at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan. She was born on September 4, 1938 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Arthur and Bernice Elaine (Booth) Ehrsam. On September 3, 1973, she was married to Eugene Rooding. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was an RN at the KSU Student Health Center, St. Mary’s Hospital in Manhattan and at the Clay County Medical Center, where she was the director of nursing. She loved her grandchildren. She is survived by four children, Susan Reed and Tom Inskeep of Riley, Ernest Rooding of Blue Springs, Missouri, Michael Rooding and Angela of Aspen, Colorado and Jennifer Bowlin and Jeffrey of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother, Jerry Ehrsam and Rose of Virginia; ten grandchildren, Jesse Reed, Joshua Reed, Courtney Rooding, Mikala Rooding, Brooke Lyle, Danielle Rooding, Maximus Rooding, Noah Rooding, Hanna Bowlin and Elijah Bowlin and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Ehrsam and her sister, Sandra Ehrsam. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley. A private family inurnment will be in the Riley Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established for Grace Hospice. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
