Obituary of Virginia Janice Crider
Virginia Janice Crider, age 85 of Topeka, Kansas, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Brewster Place in Topeka, Kansas.
She was born on November 28, 1928 in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of James Melvin and Mary Valera (Hunt) Heskett.
In 1967 she was married to Lawrence Crider. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Virginia was a school cook for Milford, Junction City and Fort Riley schools and was a member of the Milford Congregational Church. She enjoyed building doll houses and furniture for them, knitting and helping other people. She loved all kinds of music and was an avid reader. Her joys were her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Milton Jones and wife Jeanne of Kansas City, Kansas and Robert Jones of California; three daughters, Mary Wemhoff and husband Jim of Platte Center, Nebraska, Lois Visser-Ulrich and husband James of Topeka, Kansas and Dorothy Aguilera-Black Bear and husband Kashnapi of Westminster, Colorado; 19 grandchildren, C.J., Brian, Jason, Josh, Jon, Dennis, Bill, Clinton, Brett, Laura, Gary, Daniel, Rodney, Melissa, Sherry, Gayla, Terry, Isaac and Nace; 34 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Bill Heskett and four sisters, Dorothy, Marcella, June and Patricia.
Funeral services were held on May 21, 2014 at the Milford Congregational Church in Milford, Kansas with Pastor Mike Lacer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Milford Congregational Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
