Obituary of Ruth Von Elling

Ruth Ann Von Elling, age 74 of Riley, passed away Wednesday at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. She was born on July 23, 1941 in Junction City, the daughter of Robert Leroy and Margaret Doretta (Have) Stillwagon. She was married to Howard Von Elling on April 30, 1962. They later divorced. Ruth was a bookkeeper for various businesses around the area and loved taking care of people. She is survived by one son, William Howard Von Elling, Jr. and wife Kristi of Manhattan; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Von Elling and Brenda Lynn Von Elling, both of Riley; two brothers, Robert and Larry Stillwagon, both of Chapman; two sisters, Donna Bowling of Kansas City, Missouri and Peggy Williamson of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in the Riley Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Ruth Von Elling Memorial Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
