Obituary of Tony Allan Sump

Tony Allan Sump, age 72 of Randolph, KS, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Topeka, KS. He was born on August 1, 1941 in Manhattan, KS, the son of Wesley Allan and Marie Kay (Nanninga) Sump. On September 15, 1961 at Peach Grove, KS he was married to Sharon Louise Nelson. She survives of the home. Tony was a farmer and truck driver. He was a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church, OOIDA Trucker’s Association and the NRA. He enjoyed building things by welding, playing cards and being in his garden growing tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, okra and so many other vegetables. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Staci Ankerholz and husband Lance of Topeka, Gina Suther and husband Dan of Westmoreland and Tanae Sump-McLean and husband Charles of Mooresville, NC; one brother, Jerry Sump and wife Penny of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Kay Fritz and husband Max of Manhattan and Julie Stutheit and husband Mark, of Manhattan; his step father, Art Wille of Wamego; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held on December 21, 2013 at the Randolph United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathryn “Cat” Love and Pastor Garrett Kennedy officiating. Music was furnished by Delphia Cook and Shana Devlin. Pallbearers were Skylar Suther, Colter Suther, Walker Suther, Keenan Ankerholz, Collin McLean and Matt Briggs. Honorary pallbearers were Duane Sump, Howard Sump, Harlan Sump, Larry Sump, Terry Henry and Warren Harper. Burial was in the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Randolph United Methodist Church and the Terry C. Johnson for Basic Cancer Research.
