Obituary of Charles L. Peterson

Charles L. Peterson, age 70 of Junction City, Kansas, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Colmery O’Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on April 18, 1943 in Geary County, Kansas, the son of Willard Peterson and Ruby Pollard. He retired from the life insurance industry and volunteered with Meals on Wheels at the Junction City Senior Center. Charles had a passion for his oil painting and thoroughly enjoyed his weekly Bridge Club. He is survived by one son, Darren Peterson and wife Kristine of Salina, Kansas; one daughter, Ginger Filipovic of Topeka, Kansas; one brother, Frederick Peterson and wife Charlene of Denver, Pennsylvania and four grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors were held on September 23, 2013 at the Fairview Cemetery, east of Junction City with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. A memorial has been established for the American Red Cross. Memorial contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
