Obituary of Joanna Rockwell

Joanna (Rapp) Rockwell, age 87 of Manhattan, Kansas, died on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Leonardville Nursing Home in Leonardville, Kansas. She was born to the late Edward and Lucy (Ramey) Rapp on September 30, 1925 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1943 and Kansas City General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She married Nevin Rockwell in 1953. He survives of the home. In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by two daughters, Carol Meece and fiance John Horsting of Virginia and Sharon Rockwell-Filicko and husband Michael of Delaware and their son, Connor Rockwell-Filicko of whom Joanna was extremely proud. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Edward Rapp, Jr. and her daughter, Linda Sue Rockwell. Private family services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society. Memorial contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
