Obituary of Sean Michael Lesperance

Sean Michael Lesperance, age 37 of Riley, Kansas, died Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, Kansas.
He was born on July 19, 1976 at Salina, Kansas, the beloved son of Michael Paul and Margaret Jane (Fate) Lesperance.
Sean was a caring and generous person. As a young child, he loved spending time on the farm with his Grandma and Grandpa Fate. He loved being part of the Lesperance family, enjoying their large family gatherings and supportive nature. In his youth he was an avid skateboarder, transitioning to become a proud member of the Riley County High School Football team. He graduated from Riley County High School in 1994. Sean was a self-employed framing contractor and most recently worked for Economy Carpentry. He enjoyed woodworking and working on his house, but most of all, he loved coaching his daughter and watching her play competitive softball.
He is survived by his daughter Cierra Lesperance of Riley; his companion, Kelsey Hanzlicek of the home; his father, Michael Lesperance of Riley; his mother, Margaret Mall and husband Douglas of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; a grandmother, Charlene Lesperance of Concordia; two brothers, Josh Mall and companion Mandy Schooler of Riley and Colton Mall of Casper, Wyoming; a sister, Maura Mall of Missoula, Montana; four nieces, Taylor Williams and Madilyn Mall of Riley and Margaret and Katherine Sargent of Missoula, Montana; one nephew, Kaden Williams of Riley and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest Paul Lesperance and William and Mary Louise Fate.
A memorial service was held on August 23, 2013 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Family burial was in the Catholic Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas.
A memorial has been established for the Cierra Lesperance Educational Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
