Obituary of Marvin LeRoy Hook

Marvin LeRoy Hook, age 92 of Manhattan, Kansas died Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, Kansas. He was born on April 5, 1921 on the family farm north of Dysart, Iowa, the son of Ira and Jenny Hook. On December 31, 1947, he was married to Jeanette Feuerbach. She preceded in in death on November 23, 1997. He was also preceded in death by one son, Rickie Hook in 1957, two brothers and six sisters. Marvin was a farmer and cattleman who loved taking care of his cattle. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. After retiring he and his wife collected antiques. He is survived by one son, Johnnie Hook of Manhattan, Kansas, and a grandson Nathan of Topeka, Kansas. A funeral service was held in Dysart, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at KSU.
