Obituary of Elden E. Klocke

Elden E. Klocke, age 95, formerly of Clay Center, Kansas, died Thursday January 24, 2013, at the Life Care Center in Andover, Kansas. He was born on February 21, 1917 in Leonardville, Kansas, the son of Fred and Mary (Sand) Klocke. On November 20, 1947, he was married to Marjorie Stitt at Clifton, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2003. Elden was a farmer and stockman and was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and reading the newspaper and farming magazines. He is survived by two sons, Gerald Klocke of Wichita and Arlan Klocke and wife Connie of Wichita; four grandchildren, Dane, Kaylen, Kimberly and Trevor Klocke and his sister-in-law, Irene Klocke In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Rosenow, Verna Steinbach and Louise Steinbach and one brother, Lawrence Klocke. Funeral services were held on January 29, 2013 at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Diana Stewart officiating. Music was furnished by JoAnn Lips and Arvin Hoffman. Pallbearers were Dane Klocke, Trevor Klocke, Curt Porter, Nic Porter, Carroll Roth and Deron Rosenow. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
