Obituary of Lee R. Williams
Lee R. Williams, age 83 of Olsburg, Kansas, died on Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home in Olsburg. He was born on July 30, 1931 at Clearfield, Pennsylvania, the son of Myrl E. and Nellie (Duke) Williams.
On September 20, 1952, he was married to Joann L. Roy in Clearfield. Lee was a heavy equipment operator and was very proud of his work with the Niagara Power Plant and the Milford Dam Project. He loved his family and enjoyed fly fishing, hunting and woodworking and especially his custom gun stock business.
In addition to Joann, his devoted wife and best friend of 62 years, Lee is survived by three sons, Kevin Williams and wife Calvette, Keith (Sam) Williams and wife Lynda and Kent (Marty) Williams and wife Deb all of Olsburg; two daughters, Karen Cassel and husband Don and Kathy Rootring and husband Jeff, both of Olsburg; 11 grandchildren, Matthew (Becky) Williams, Daniel (Tina) Williams, Samual (Elizabeth) Williams, Joshua (Misty) Williams, Joseph (Alaina) Williams, Jeremy (Jessi) Cassel, Aric (Amy) Cassel, Dustin (Emily) Cassel, Callie (Cody) Penner, Kyle Rootring and Zachary Rootring; 4 step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren (plus one in the spring); 17 step great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Saulsgiver of Apache Junction, Arizona; two brothers, Ford Williams of Riley and Duke Williams of Buffalo, New York; many nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friends, Mike King and Gladys Zimmer.
He was preceded in death by a son, Karl L. Williams; an infant daughter, Kristy Williams and a brother, Glenn Williams.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Olsburg Community Pride. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
