Obituary of Renee Miller
Renee Miller, age 88 of Frankfort, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Frankfort Community Care Home.
She was born on September 6, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Dowd) Donahy. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1944 and then attended Kansas State University and acquired a teaching degree. She taught at LaGrange Rural Grade School for six years.
On October 28, 1950 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillis, Kansas, she was married to Lorain Joseph (L.J.) Miller. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2010.
She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife where she cared for her five children. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Altar Society. She was a leader for the Jolly Farmers 4-H Club, board member and woman leader of Marshall County Farm Bureau, Priscilla Club member for many years and served on the election board in Clear Fork Township for numerous years.
She is survived by four children, Dan Miller and wife Elizabeth of Topeka, Jan Miller of Manhattan, Dennis Miller and wife Marge of Frankfort and Mary Johnson and husband Steve of Frankfort. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steven J. Miller; one brother, Gerald Donahy and one sister Ann Doyle.
The family will receive friends at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillis, Kansas from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 with a Rosary and Wake Service being held at 6:00 P.M.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillis with Fr. Jim Shaughnessy as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Renee Miller Memorial Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
