Obituary of Ted B. Duncan
Ted B. Duncan, age 83 of University Park, rural Manhattan, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in his home.
He was born on May 5, 1931 in Westmoreland, the son of Howard and Sarah Isabel Duncan. Ted spent 4 years of active duty in the Navy, most of which was spent overseas.
He worked at JC Penney’s and McCall Pattern Company both in Manhattan. He then moved to Olpe and worked for IBP Meat Packing Plant in Emporia until he retired. He then worked part-time for McCullough Development Company in Manhattan. He was a member of the Sedalia Community Church and was a life member of the American Legion and V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife Jeannie of the home; three daughters, Teresa Rios (Danny) of Emporia, Staci Weber (Wayne) of Omaha, NE, Cindy Anderson (Dan) of Fremont, NE; two sons, Marlin Harrison (Angie) of Blaine, and Randy Harrison (Carie) of Westmoreland; one sister Donna Thompson (Clarence) of Abilene; one brother Ray Duncan (Lona) of Wamego; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Randy Duncan; two sisters, Alice Spaulding and Carol Jean Geisler; one brother, Clyde (Trigger) Duncan and two brother in-laws, Paul Spaulding and Mike Geisler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Sedalia Community Church with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Thursday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, where the family will greet friends from 7 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday. Burial will be in the Admantha Cemetery near Flush, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials to the Sedalia Community Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
