Obituary of Fern Elaine Hageman

Fern Elaine Hageman, 83 of Leonardville, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Leonardville Nursing Home. She was born on May 12, 1931 at Leonardville, the daughter of Herman Arthur and Ethel Ramona (Wickstrum) Bammes. On August 20, 1950 at the Leonardville EUB Church, she was married to Harlen James Hageman. He survives of the home. She was a homemaker and farm wife and was the treasurer for the Riley County school district for 27 years. She was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church, Fairview Presbyterian Women and was part of a group that made miniature doll houses. She enjoyed quilting, painting, and sewing among so many other things. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Jones and husband Terry of Topeka; two sons, Gary Hageman and wife Carla of Leonardville and Galen Hageman and wife Sue of Riley; one sister-in-law, Elsie Bammes of Leonardville; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Leo Bammes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Fairview Presbyterian Church with Rev. D. Erich Schwartz officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Thursday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, where the family will receive friends from 7 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, north of Riley. A memorial has been established for the Fairview Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral in Riley, KS.
