Obituary of Myron Simnitt

Myron Leroy Simnitt, age 88 of Green, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

He was born on July 1, 1929, at Green, the son of Merle W. and Lydia (Larson) Simnitt.

On May 7, 1950, he married Leora Jean Gridley at her parent’s farm outside of Green.  He was a farmer and worked at the Clay Center Livestock Sales.  He was a member of the Green United Methodist Church and Green Fancy Creek Saddle Club.

He is survived by his wife Leora Simnitt of Green; three daughters, Rhonda Slingsby and Warren of Green, Judy Luthi and Loran of Abilene and Dawn Langvardt and Greg of Clay Center; one sister, Connie Brown and Norman of Green; one brother-in-law, Willard Olson of Minden, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Jeremy Slingsby, Kyle Slingsby, Lance Langvardt, Brett Langvardt, Kimberly Brungardt and Melanie Luthi and eight great grandchildren, Lukas Slingsby, Kade Slingsby, Piper Slingsby, Leora Brungardt, Braylee Langvardt, Brynley Langvardt, Bayler Langvardt and Ames Langvardt.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Olson; a granddaughter, Deedra Luthi and a grandson, Raymond Luthi.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Green United Methodist Church with Pastor Sarah Gill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Green Fancy Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Green United Methodist Church or Meadowlark Hospice and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
