Obituary of Arlene Isaacson
Arlene Harriet Isaacson, age 98 of Manhattan, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Via Christi Village.
She was born on April 22, 1919, at Randolph, the daughter of Willard Elmer and Luella Rosette (Holtman) Johnson.
On October 27, 1942 in Randolph, she was married to Ivan C. Isaacson. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Arlene worked at the grocery store in Randolph, JCPenney’s in Manhattan and later in the Payroll and Accounting Department for Kansas State University. She was a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Randolph Senior Citizen’s and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed sewing and singing.
She is survived by two sons, Ron Isaacson and Sharon of Eagle, Nebraska and Dick Isaacson and Kathy of Manhattan; two daughters, Janet Benninga and Don of Manhattan and Becky Brenner and John of Randolph; nine grandchildren, Jackie Detmer, Angie Jolly, Debbie Whaley, Scott Benninga, Trisha Parker, Traci Robinson, Jacob Brenner, Jordan Brenner and Joey Brenner; three step grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert W. Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Randolph United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandy Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Randolph United Methodist Church and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
