We are so sorry to hear that Verta has passed. She was our neighbor on Anderson Avenue for many years. I live four houses down and have twins who are now 14. When my babies were little she would make them little tiny birthday cakes every year. She also made the best sugar cookies on the planet, and she often brought Gooseberry pie to our neighborhood gatherings. She was a joy to be around.. I'm sad to hear she has passed but at the same time I'm glad she is now with Sam. They both were truly wonderful people. God bless all of you.
