Family of Elaine- We just wanted to send our thoughts and prayers to your family. Her obituary was a great tribute to her. She was quite an incredible lady and very blessed. You were so fortunate to have had her with you so many years!! I remember when we lived in Riley and I would play with Lori in 1st-2nd grade and get to come over to your home. I always thought your mom was so beautiful and loving and kind and she'd always have something good to eat. One particular thing I remember is how lucky you all were because you had an aluminum silver Christmas tree with, I believe, blue ornaments on it. I thought that was the prettiest tree I'd ever seen!! I think of those days we lived near Riley and cherish them. They were fun times. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I am the same age as Jan and attended Riley school till we moved to Green Ks. I have such fond memories when I lived on a farm outside of Riley. My sister, Vicki and I would stay many week-ends with our grandma and grandpa Grater who only lived 1 block from your house. I can remember going to your house to play many times and Terri Copeland lived across the street and we would have a great time together. My mom, Reva Grater, will be turning 85 this week-end and we spend as much time with her as we can, we cherish every moment we have with her.
