Obituary of Alice Lund
Alice Mae Lund, age 84 of Leonardville, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center.
She was born on February 7, 1933, at the family farm near Barnes, the daughter of Alvin and Bertha (Steenbock) Richter.
On May 16, 1954, she was married to Myron Allan Lund. He survives of the home.
Alice was a homemaker and a member of the Alert Covenant Church and Covenant Women. She enjoyed baking, cooking and being a hostess for her family and friends. She was a talented seamstress and made all of her daughter’s wedding dresses and her grandchildren quilts.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children; Nancy Hofmann and husband Galen of Leonardville, Delbert Lund and wife LuAnn of Leonardville, Marla Peterson and husband David of Assaria and Joyce Beck and husband Joe of Clay Center; two brothers, Arlo and Neil Richter, both of Barnes; four sisters, Twila Olson and husband Glen of Ringsted, Iowa, Marcene Richter of Barnes, Lois Grittman and husband Dean of Topeka and Sherre Johnson and husband Lowell of Topeka; 12 grandchildren, Gayle Johnson and husband Shaun, Michelle Ahumada and husband Javier, Darren Hofmann and wife Bethany, Rebecca Blackburn and husband Andrew, Ashley Runyan and husband Adam, Ryan Lund and wife Annelise, Greg Peterson and fiance BrookeAnna Galloway, Nathan Peterson, Kendal Peterson and fiance Caelan Blair, Laura Peterson, Lundee Regier and husband Nick and Kolten Beck and wife Carley; 11 great grandchildren, Annika Ahumada, Lillian Ahumada, Layla Johnson, Cora Johnson, Jack Johnson, Henry Hofmann, Boston Blackburn, Ellis Blackburn, Lantry Regier, Emmeline Regier and Conrad Regier; two great grandchildren on the way; two sisters-in-law, Janice Krienitz and Helen Lund and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joshua Peterson and Heidi Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Alert Covenant Church with Pastor Dwight Diller officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alert Covenant Church and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
