Obituary of Ford Williams

Ford Carl Williams, age 88 of Leonardville, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Via Christi Hospital.

He was born on April 19, 1930 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, the son of Myrle E. and Nellie E. (Duke) Williams.

On December 19, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas, he was married to Margaret Joan Weisinger.  She preceded him in death on March 30, 2016.  They spent many winters in Arizona together.

Ford was in Strategic Air Command for the U.S. Air Force.  He served overseas in Europe, Japan and Korea.  Following his military career, he owned and operated Williams Honey Farm.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting for artifacts and collecting baseball cards.

He is survived by four children, Karen Schaffer and Jim of Carnagie, Pennsylvania, Tom Williams and Cynthia of Leonardville, Robert Williams and Joanna Heaslet of Westmoreland and Travis Williams and Kathrine of Leonardville; one sister, Margaret Saulsgiver of Leonardville; one brother, Duke Williams of Ransomville, New York; seven grandchildren, Terry Roberts, Shanna Smith, Brandon Williams, Bryce Williams, Travis J. Williams, Callie Williams and Joshua Schaffer; ten great grandchildren and his second family, Opal, Hildi, Imogene, Ernest and Sarah.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Williams and Glenn Williams; one grandson, Jimmy Schaffer and his brother from his second family, Butch.

Cremation is planned with inurnment at a later date.

A memorial has been established for the Leonardville Nursing Home and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
