Obituary of Carolyne Canela

Carolyne Canela, age 61 of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka.

She was born on January 1, 1957 in North Carolina, the daughter of Lonnie Max and Carol M. (Eaton) Matthews.

Carolyne worked in customer service for American Airlines and loved all animals, especially dogs.

She is survived by three brothers, Lonnie Matthews and Marjorie of Phoenix, Arizona, Robert Matthews of Topeka and Billy Matthews and Debbie of Wichita; three sisters, Maxine Marker of Wamego, Waneta Parshall of Wamego and Heather Bergstrom and Kevin of Wamego and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step dad, Ronald Murdock.

Cremation is planned with inurnment in the Riley Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial may be made to the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
