Obituary of Wava Peterson
Wava Colleen Peterson, age 80 of Manhattan and formerly of Leonardville, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Via Christi Hospital.
She was born on October 5, 1938 in Clay Center, the daughter of Robert W. and Neddy Louise (Schmale) Adams.
On May 5, 1957 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Clay Center, she was married to Arlo Myron Peterson. He survives of the home.
Wava was a farm wife who loved her grandchildren and to entertain and host family and friends. She was most comfortable in her kitchen and some of her favorite foods to make were pickles, pies and potato sausage. She was a member of the Walsburg Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Dallas Peterson and wife Susan of Manhattan; three grandchildren, Mallory Peterson and husband Erik Prohaska, Andrea Peterson and husband Matthew Separa and Garrett Peterson and fiancé Kelsey Craig; a sister-in-law, Darlene Adams of Clay Center and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Hank” Adams and two sisters, Lois Asp and husband Orville and Lula May Schreefer and husband Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Walsburg Lutheran Church, with Rev. Keith Wiens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Walsburg Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial may be made to the Walsburg Lutheran Church and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
