Doug, LeAnne and family, Darlene always had a smile and a friendly hello no matter whether that was a work or a family gathering. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your family with so many recent deaths. We are so sorry for your losses in such a short period of time. It is difficult enough to deal with one loss. Darlene was a very special lady and I loved her sense of humor. She and Hank always loved going to concerts too. We traveled with them some when Hank and Calvin were with the Coop and those were fun times as well. Again, we are so sorry.

I’ve known Darlene since the 80’s when I first remember her working at IGA. She was always a smiling friendly face in the checkout line. Later, I had the privilege of helping with her care at Presbyterian Manor. What I loved the most about her was her laugh...she’d shake up and down so hard while laughing that she couldn’t talk! She loved a good joke and she loved teasing her caregivers and welcomed us giving it back to her. You will be missed, dear Darlene. Love and hugs to the entire family.

Aunt Darlene played a huge part in my summer adventures as a child. When my own Grandma needed to leave me with someone else for a trainings or such, it was Aunt Darlene. Armed with mac and cheese and despite my whining about taking naps (like a baby), Aunt Darlene's was always great fun. My beautiful knitted afigans made with love when I married and had my sons, a special treasure that will provide a whisper of the actual hugs that she never failed to have at the ready when needed. God has taken home one of the kindest and best people I know.
