Obituary of Robert Baxter

Robert Benjamin Baxter, 72 of Wakefield, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on December 9, 1946 in Clay Center, the son of Benjamin Alfred and Margaret Cecelia (Hedlund) Baxter.

Bob was a farmer and salesman.  He enjoyed working the land and in his early years, had a race car that he loved.  He was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his son, Doug Baxter of Manhattan; his sister, Martha Hanson and John of Riley; two step sons in Missouri and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Chris Baxter.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Clay Center Wesleyan Church with Pastor Rob Stewart officiating.  Private family inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.  The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

A memorial has been established for the Clay Center Wesleyan Church and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
