When my family came back for one of the reunions, we were visiting at the Nelson farm. I told LeRoy that I had always wanted to go out in the pasture and see what was on the other side of that mound. We were never allowed to venture out there as children. He said, “Well, come on, I’ll take in the truck.” Off we went, just like that. He was so easy to talk to. When we got up on that hill, there was a pond and a herd of grazing cattle. I was so tickled! I never forgot him fulfilling a dream of mine. Simple pleasures! Julie Nelson
