Obituary of Mary Jo Hageman
Mary Jo Hageman, age 83 of Manhattan, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 in the Sloan House at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community.
She was born on October 12, 1936 in Keats, the daughter of Max Ardean and Grace Irene (Beck) Blodgett.
On October 18, 1959, at the Keats United Methodist Church, she was married to Eldon L. Hageman. He survives of Manhattan.
Mary Jo worked for Farm Bureau, the finance department at Fort Riley and was a bus driver for the Riley County School District for over 25 years. She was a member of the Sedalia Community Church, Silver Creek Club, Stagg Hill Golf Ladies and Little Apple Core. She enjoyed volunteering at the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and the Good Shepherd Hospice House.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Brenda Annan and husband George of Wamego; one son, Brad Hageman and wife Jenny of New Strawn; four grandchildren, Miranda Robinson and husband Adam, John Annan, Samuel Hageman and Jackson Hageman; two great granddaughters, Olivia and Melanie Robinson; four sisters, Sarah Allison and husband Charles, Peggy Morgan, Anita Glendening and Joan Blakely and husband Frank; two brothers, Clark Blodgett and Bruce Blodgett and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Warren Blodgett.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Sedalia Community Church with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sedalia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Sedalia Community Church or the Good Shepherd Hospice House. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
