Privileged to have had Maury as a great neighbor while growing up and then later in life as a friend. He inspired some many thru his art and teaching, and will be truly missed by all.

Bonnie and Maury helped our family settle to Manhattan, KS over 30 years ago. The relationship grew over the years as they became an extension of our family. Maury was a very talented man and Aki had an opportunity to take one of his art class in high school. We do not ever remember seeing Maury upset. He was an amazing guy with lots of sense of humor. We pray for comfort for the family and may God be with you during this difficult time. - Kahssay Family

Bonnie and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Maury. I have many fond/cherished memories of him working with stained glass and wood. I always found his artwork to have a deep purpose which was inspirational to me as a young boy and a young man.

Maury epitomized art in his creativity and thoughtfulness. I cherish getting to know him and Bonnie as neighbors for 9 years. We had many delightful and enlightening conversations at the mailbox, followed by his sharing the piece of glass or wood that was his current inspiration! As we watched our dogs Dede and Ebony at play.....Sympathy to you, Bonnie and family. He will be missed, but lives on in many beautiful birds, sunflowers and tulips.

Eric Edmunds, Mr. Bergren taught me so much, He even thought his best students how to throw the bigger poetry I liked the bigger pottery to fit the Macrame ' hanging baskets I traded him The hanging basket is hanging in his living room the last I know, that Macrame was a one of kind, it had to be tied to the pottery that he had made when I was in Highschool Like to get another picture of it if anyone recognizes it, The bread Bowl is still with me and that is the Size that I wanted to learn to Throughon a potters wheel, I never used an electric wheel, I always had to have the Kick wheel to do any pottery in his class

We have so many pleasant and fun memories. These include the playing of softball in the church softball league, many workdays at Peace, the cleanup and work after your house fire, the coffee times at Panera and Hardees and the wonderful piece of art he crated for us. Truely a kind and wonderful spirit and man. He will be missed but we know he is with his Lord and Savior! John and Sue Drach

Maury came to our house and carefully measured the space above our front door. We gave him a list of birds we often see in our back yard and he created this masterpiece. He is remembered fondly. Peace to you, Kay and Darrell Denton
