Obituary of Theresa (Lewis) Barker
Theresa Ann (Lewis) Barker passed away on December 26, 2020 at Medical Center Enterprise in Enterprise, Alabama.
She was born on September 1, 1955 in Manhattan, Kansas to Wendell and Doris (Cutright) Lewis.
She married Don Alan Barker on April 30, 1982 at the chapel of Manhattan Christian College. They later separated, but remained extremely close. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Barton County Community College in 1984 and began her life long profession of being a Registered Nurse. She dedicated her life to helping others and saving lives. She practiced nursing in Kansas and California.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was always their #1 fan. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family. She loved trips to the Grand Canyon, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Hearst Castle, Hoover Dam, and many others. She was a huge Kansas State University fan, and rarely missed a basketball or football game. She was a season ticket holder for many years. She was also a dog lover, adopting many throughout her life.
She is survived by one daughter, Monica (Barker) Pigg and husband Steven Pigg of Enterprise, Alabama; one son, Justin Barker of Daleville, Alabama; one brother Wendell Lewis Jr of Montrose, Colorado and six grandchildren, Angela (Fowles) Elder, LeAnn Fowles, Brittany Barker, Jillian Barker, Aaron Twiggs, and Iris Pigg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, one daughter, Amanda Barker and one sister, Susan (Lewis) Sechrist.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Bala Cemetery.
A memorial may be made to the Theresa Barker Memorial Fund to go towards her grandchildren’s education. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
