Obituary of June Bowser

Viola June Bowser, age 81 of Clay Center, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born on June 26, 1939 in Skiddy, the daughter of Charles Alfred and Cora Maude (Little-Kennedy) Mann. On June 8, 1957, she was married to Harold Stanley Bowser. They later divorced. June was a caregiver, taking lovingly care of her family. Throughout the years, she worked at various jobs like Presbyterian Manor, Randolph Motel and Russell Stover’s to help her family. She was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church. She loved reading and preaching from her Bible, her grandkids, taking pictures, doing puzzles and playing Scrabble. She is survived by eight children, Brenda Low and partner Richard Thomas of Douglass, Gary Bowser and wife Lana of McPherson, Anita Griggs and husband Kevin of Clay Center, Charlotte Bowser of Clay Center, Kayla Fowler of Wichita, J.R. Bowser of Clay Center, Izella Young of Clay Center and Charlene Huffman of Clay Center; one brother, Ralph Mann of Clay Center; one sister, Kate Ash of McPherson; 18 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Bowser; two grandsons, Rickey Lee Low and Justin Williams and ten siblings. Respect calls may be made from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Parkerville Cemetery with Chris Low officiating. Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
