Obituary of Opal M. Humbert
Opal Mae Sprecker Humbert, age 89 of Wamego, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Wamego Health Center.
She was born on April 25, 1926 in Forest City, Missouri, the daughter of Monroe T. and Stella (Walker) Rasnic.
On October 13, 1945, she was married to Merlin Harold Sprecker. He precede her in death in 1980. She later married Jack Humbert on June 3, 1981. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Opal was a waitress and hostess at Kearbys Restaurant, Kecks Steakhouse and Wendy’s all in Manhattan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eagle’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed, bingo, word find books, growing beautiful flowers and watching wrestling three nights a week. She was currently a big Jon Cena fan.
She is survived by three children, Alice Vanstory of Manhattan, Terry Sprecker of Manhattan and Danny Sprecker of Oswego; two grandchildren, Bill Vanstory and Tracy of Maple Hill and Brian Vanstory and Kathy of St. George; five great grandchildren, Anna, Jessica, Ella, Sarah and Matthew Vanstory and five step children
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Pastor Devin Wendt officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Friday, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8:00 P.M. Friday. Burial will be in the Leonardville United Methodist Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
