Obituary of Lyle R. Haller
Lyle R. Haller, age 91 of Leonardville, passed away, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.
He was born on January 17, 1924 in Randolph, Kansas, the son of Court and Maude Elizabeth (Gustafson) Haller.
He was married to Bonna Jean Fosha on December 16, 1945 in Marysville, Kansas. Together they operated the Parallel Country Store northwest of Randolph for eight years, until 1954. Then they started farming northwest of Randolph. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2003.
Lyle was a farmer and stockman. His loves in life were his family and farming. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion in Manhattan.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil (Adolph) Haller, Wayne Haller and Dean Haller; one sister, Mae Simnitt; one granddaughter, Jamie Lea Haller and one grandson, Brady Connor Stewart.
He is survived by one son, Brad Haller and wife Dena of Manhattan; two daughters, Connie Richardson and husband Jim of Topeka and Salli Stewart and husband Doug of Burlington; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Clark and husband Tony of Lenexa, Lance Ryan Haller of Manhattan, Tyler James Stewart and wife Noelle of Lenexa and Madison Maci Stewart of Burlington and three great grandchildren, Kendall, Brandt and Berklee Clark.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Tuesday, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Leonardville Nursing Home. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
