Since I am unable to be there today I want to share a few of my memories of Uncle Harlan:
Coloring with him at Grandma's house
Many walks through Gage Park Rose Garden learning about the roses and the work he did there
Going to the ice cream stand a few blocks from his house
Many stories of his adventures and the pictures that went along with them
Planting dogwood trees in my front yard with him
His love for native Kansas flowers and plants, including the Indian Pitcher plants that now grow in Gladstone
