Obituary of Alison Lebeda
Alison Jolene "Ali Jo" Lebeda, age 42 of Wichita, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born in Manhattan on July 31, 1979, the daughter of Paul Reginald and Wendy Sue (Walter) Stadel. The first four years of her life were spent on the farm north of Leonardville. In November of 1984, the family moved to Salina. Alison attended Salina Public Schools. She graduated with the class of 1998 from Salina South High School. Alison was a graduate of Wichita State University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Education on May 16, 2003 and went on to earn a Master’s degree from Friends University in Arts, Science and Education on May 10, 2008.
Alison married Josh Lebeda on June 28, 2008, at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina. He survives of the home.
She was an educator in the Wichita Public Schools for 13 years. Most recently, she served as an Instructional Coach for USD 259.
Alison’s smile lit up any room she entered. She had a passion for teaching and mentoring kids. She was intentional with the people in her life and chose to be available to help no matter the situation. She was a loyal sister, friend, and confidant. Alison was a life-long athlete. She and her husband enjoyed spending their free time in the gym. Alison was a talented artist and recently began pursuing archery.
Alison is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Alice Stadel, and her maternal grandparents, Glenn and Myrta Walter.
In addition to her husband Josh, she is survived by her parents, Reg and Wendy Stadel of Salina; her brother Bobby Stadel and his wife Beth of Northwest Arkansas; her sister Jessica Fuller and her husband Andrew of Salina, KS; her father-in-law Doug Cline and his wife Jill of Andover, KS; four nieces: Deveney Stadel, Kaeden Stadel, Annelise Stadel, Kinsley Fuller; one nephew Kace Fuller and close family friends, Broc and Amanda Ball. Also surviving are many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at First Covenant Church in Salina with Pastor Doug McHenry officiating. The family strongly encourages those in attendance to wear a face covering. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed via livestream link: www.firstcov.link/watch. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. A private family graveside will be in the Riley Cemetery. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to Camp Wood YMCA by donating online at www.campwood.org or mail your donation to 1101 Camp Wood Road, Elmdale, KS 66850 or contributing to Multiple Sclerosis research by donating at www.nationalmssociety.org. Contributions may also be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
